What are the differences in ZETA's three pickup systems?
The Jazz pickup produces pure, clear sound without overtones, harmonics, or bow noise. It's a very clean sound. It provides the ultimate clarity in string tone and is the best pickup for MIDI applications.
The Strados pickup delivers a clean, warm tone. It's individual pickup "fingers" dedicate dual piezos to each string that respond to the flex of the finger rather than vibrations, delivering a clear, rich tone, at high stage volumes with litte feedback sensitivity.
Our E-series pickup is preferred by country, bluegrass and folk musicians. It delivers a natural wood tone, complete with bow noise and rich acoustic overtones. It delivers a clear, acoustic tone.
How can I clean rosin off of my pickup without harming the rubber parts?
Use plain alcohol, however keep in mind that alcohol can damage the finish of acoustic instruments with a traditional varnish.
Where can a get an owners manual for my ZETA product?
You can download manuals on the ZETA web site.
Why am I getting unwanted overtones and crosstalk while using my Synthony II?
You should have received the “Tracking Enhancer Kit” with your Synthony II. The string damper kit is two pieces of neoprene, one is a wedge shape which is placed at the nut under the strings, and the other is a rectangular piece that goes underneath the bridge between bridge and body. The wedge piece dampens the strings slightly to eliminate some extraneous harmonius vibrations of the string. This allows the Synthony II MIDI controler to more easily read signal of the main note being played. The rectangular piece that goes under the bridge eliminates a sympathetic string vibration, which causes unwanted crosstalk.
One or more strings on my Zeta instrument are not audible when using an amplifer. What is causing this?
If your instrument is equipped with a Jazz pickup, make sure that the metal part of the string is making good contact with the tail piece. The jazz violin will not work if there is not a good connection between the string and the tail piece. Clean off any debris and make sure the ball end of the string is directly touching the tailpiece. Another test to see if this is the problem is to touch the inaudible string while the instrument is plugged into an amplifier, if the instrument "hums" loudly when the string is touched then this is a sure sign that the string is not making contact with the tail piece. Also, make sure the fine tuner is screwed down tight and you are using steel core strings with your Jazz pickup.
Finally, if you've tried all else, you may need to replace the battery.
Note: When a 1/4" cord is plugged into an active instrument's output jack it will automatically turn the pre-amp on, so while not being played, your Zeta instrument should be unplugged so the battery will not be drained.

They are available in a natural finish only. The Educator Series instruments are perfect for students and teachers.
The Performer Series instruments are a step up as far as materials used and do not have the Silent Practice or Play-Along feature. They are available in a wide variety of finishes including gloss solid colors and maple top colors. Also the Performer Violins are available in a 5-String option.
