"I had searched for years looking for the perfect "real" violin that sounded good when plugged in. I used ordinary piezo bridge pickups, but they just didn't sound real enough. All my searching stopped with the ZETA Acoustic Pro." Nick Hoffman

Stylized modern lines and advanced electronic design come together in the Strados Crossover Bass to create a unique and versatile electric bass. The best of all worlds, Zeta's Strados Crossover Bass merges state-of-the-art ergonomic solid-body instrument design and high-tech pickup systems to create a Performer Series instrument specifically designed to meet the needs of the professional musician.
Zeta's patented Strados Crossover pickup system delivers a clean, rich natural string tone. Whether used as an analog pickup or a digital MIDI pickup in conjunction with the Zeta Synthony II MIDI Controller / Synthesizer (sold separately), the Strados Crossover pickup system delivers beautiful tone without feedback.
Zeta's proprietary internal active preamp system increases the power of the pickup signal from each individual string, leading to separate internal gain controls to provide for even string balance. Two internal 9-volt batteries provide over 1,000 hours of service on average.
The active electronics and on-board volume, treble, and bass controls with a special mid-range EQ and frequency sweep provide extensive tonal flexibility for performance and recording applications.
Plug headphones into the auxiliary output jack for practice privacy.
“Play-a-long” with the music by connecting a CD player or other music source into the auxiliary input jack.
Use the built-in volume control to blend the level of the incoming music signal with the volume of the instrument to get the perfect “practice mix”.
For recital performances use the standard 1/4” analog output jack and Zeta’s AP-12 Amplifier to fill the concert hall with rich, feedback-free sound.
Explore the world of digital music through Zeta’s proprietary MULTI-OUT-MIDI output jack and rack-mountable Synthony II MIDI Controller / Synthesizer.
Explore the world of digital music through Zeta’s proprietary MIDI output jack and rack-mountable Synthony II MIDI Controller / Synthesizer. Individual-string digital-outputs allow the use of each string as a separate MIDI channel through the Synthony II for maximum MIDI controller capabilities. Access software notation programs and MIDI applications, using the Strados Crossover Bass as a MIDI controller.
For live performances and recording use the standard 1/4” analog output jack for rich, feedback-free sound.
The Strados Crossover Bass’s Modern design allows for easy adaptability in playing either in a “bass guitar position” (seated or with a strap), or in a traditional standing “upright position”, providing easy access for bowing or playing pizzicato. The body is select lightweight swamp ash or a figured maple top over alder tonewood, available in Natural hand-rubbed oil finish, high-gloss opaque colors, or beautiful high-gloss Trans & Burst colors.
The “bolt-on” neck is hardrock maple with a double adjusting truss rod and an ebony fingerboard. It is contoured in a slim electric bass guitar neck profile, with a natural satin finish and side fret markers. With a 34" scale – equivalent to an electric bass guitar - the Strados Crossover Bass provides a fretless upright sound in a portable and affordable instrument.
The included telescoping (and detachable) end-pin and upper-bout guide allows for personalization of the “fit” of the bass in the upright position by providing height adjustment and body depth support to simulate an acoustic upright bass’s body dimensions.
The Strados Crossover Bass uses standard flatwound electric bass strings and black bass guitar tuning machines, making string replacement economical and easy.
Compact and lightweight, the Strados Crossover Bass transports as easily as any electric bass guitar.
Exclusive to Zeta, a deluxe soft-padded zippered gig bag is included with the Crossover, providing portability with protection.
An optional tripod stand can be mounted to the bass to hold it in an upright playing position, allowing the bass to be “playing-ready” on stage at all times.
The Strados Crossover Bass is truly…the Professional’s Choice
